The 2011 Christmas Extravaganza is on Friday 2nd December
Isn't it amazing to think that all the TV programmes you watch over Christmas (while you let the turkey or nut roast settle), were all probably filmed several months in advance. All so that you can have the extra feel good effect over Christmas without having to put in much effort, over and above buying the presents and cooking the Christmas dinner. I take my hat off to them.
Did you realise that the same goes for Wincanton's own Christmas Extravaganza? Our intrepid team have been working their socks off for several months already to stage what we hope will be the biggest and best Extravaganza to date on Friday 2nd December 2011.
We have already sent out the application leaflets to all our traders asking for their continued support and these will be collected by the end of September. Between now and then we need to hear from anyone who wants to participate in the event. If you want to run a stall you need to apply. No unauthorised stalls will be allowed.
We will be releasing a string of articles to update you all as we secure different activities for the night. But we need your help too. The Extravaganza is all about "Community". This is not done to line any particular pocket. Wincanton is a great town with a great High Street. We have a great selection of specialist shops that can survive in our circumstances. So, as in all our Extravaganzas to date this event is designed to bring residents and visitors into the High Street to meet all our traders. It's a chance to see, and appreciate what they have to offer. It's a good opportunity for our traders to say thank you to all who have supported them through thick and thin. It's a chance to meet new residents who have only just arrived in town. All in all, this event is about our whole community.
So even now, WBT needs You. We need Your Help.
Spread the word to all your family and friends. We want you to tell them all that on 2nd December 2011, come rain, hail or shine, the only place to be is Wincanton High Street, where it will be buzzing with lots of events between 5:30pm and 8pm. Help us to promote and encourage our community.
Please contact us at with any questions or suggestions about this year's Christmas Extravagnaza.
