School orchestra and choir entertaining the guestsEvery year the Year 11 students at King Arthur's throw a party for the senior citizens of the Wincanton community as part of their Citizenship studies. This year was no different and on Thursday 15th December 80 guests were entertained.

Each student had a different job to do: some were decorators, while others served tea and coffee, some performed and entertained and others socialised with the guests.

Student Lauren Feast said "It was great fun and really nice to be able to be involved in organising an event that benefited other people. It was the first time we had been involved in an occasion on such a large scale that we had to plan mainly by ourselves. At the end we all agreed that it was an exciting experience and we learned a lot from it, especially on how to work well together in a group".

One of the highlights of the day was the sing-along finale, which had everyone, including the students and teachers, joining in with their favourite Christmas carols. One of the eighty guests, and local resident, Mrs Pat Elson, particularly enjoyed herself, and said "I have had a lovely time. The party is always very good".

Head of Upper School, Mrs Adele Creed said "Year 11 is an inspiration to us all. They worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to put on a party to remember". Mrs Creed and the Tutors were proud of their dedication and spirit.
