Armistice Day with Wincanton Quakers
Quakers will celebrate the end of the world-wide war in 1918, and the hope for Peace that the Armistice brought. Anyone who would like to join us in gratitude and remembrance of all who fell in that terrible conflict is most welcome.
The Meeting House will be open from 10.30am to 12.30pm, for all who would like to join whether for 10 minutes or an hour. The Meeting will be quiet and reflective; you are welcome to speak if you wish, or to remain with your own thoughts.
The sign to the Meeting House is on the High Street directly opposite Andrew Barclay's butchery. There is a passage between the hairdresser on one side and a shop selling children's clothes on the other. This leads to the Community Peace Garden, then to "The Barn", our social room, and finally to the Meeting House in a small garden.
There will be refreshments in the Barn throughout the time, and also some supervised children's activities.
