Bruton Art Society 61st Exhibition at Bruton School for Girls
Opening on Saturday 16th August and running until Sunday 31st (closing 2.30pm) and open every day 10.00am to 5.00pm, this 61st annual exhibition is a must see for those interested in seeing the fine work of local artists.
With some 200 works on display, including drawings, paintings, prints, etchings and sculpture in a variety of media, together with unframed prints, pictures and original cards, the Annual BAS exhibition has something for everyone who enjoys art.
Thanks to the Head, Mrs Nicola Botterill, and the Governors we are again able to mount the exhibition in the Main Hall of the school which has ideal light and really makes viewing the work a pleasure.
Entry is £1.00, which gives you a programme and almost all the work is for sale, so this is an opportunity to buy a fine original work often at an affordable price.
This year has seen the largest number of entries ever, a sign that contemporary art in a variety of styles and media is alive and well in this area. You can also see the whole exhibition online by going to www.brutonartsociety.co.uk , but that is not to be compared to seeing the works in the exhibition.
