Carols by Candlelight in Bruton
Bruton Choral Society present their traditional Carols by Candlelight concert, to be held on Friday 16th December at 7:30pm at Bruton School for Girls. As ever, there will be mulled wine, mince pies and audience participation in an atmospheric candlelit evening of medieval Christmas music with both original and more modern settings.
The choir is delighted to be welcoming Frances Eustace, a leading performer in the world of Early Music. Frances played with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for many years and she will demonstrate a variety of medieval musical instruments during the concert. Soprano soloist Angela Ashworth will be joined by Mair Mills (soprano) and the concert will also feature Bruton Recorder Consort and Faelan Sydenham (trumpet and percussion).
Tickets £10, to include mulled wine and mince pies from Bruton Pharmacy, Churchbridge Stores or phone 01749 812281.
The choir is loyally supported by the Friends of Bruton Choral Society – if you would like to join their number, please contact Mary Aston on . More about the society’s activities can be found on www.brutonchoralsociety.org.uk.
