Charlton Musgrove Memorial Hall Gets SSDC Grant to Improve Parking
Members of the Area East Committee have awarded a grant of £4738 to Charlton Musgrove Memorial Hall Committee towards increasing and improving parking for the hall.
The new hall was built with support from a number of funding organisations including SSDC, and has only been open for just over a year but has very quickly become a very well used facility providing a meeting space for a wide range of local groups. Regular users of the hall include a toddler group, painting group, Pilates, computer lessons and singing rehearsals. It is also becoming a popular venue for larger celebrations such as wedding receptions, birthday parties and local events.
The ward member for Tower ward, Cllr Mike Beech, said "One year on, the need for additional parking has been identified by the various hall users particularly those holding larger events, with safety becoming an increasing concern as people are having to park on the road. This really is an indication of how successful the new hall has been"
The scheme will add a second disabled parking bay, improve vehicle access to the kitchen for larger functions and provide fencing and surfacing for the new parking area.
