A Choir and Brass Spectacular at St Mary’s, Bruton
The choirs of St Mary’s Church, Bruton, will be joining forces with Bruton Choral Society, trumpet soloists David Bertie and Jeff Purtle and organists Simon Clarkson and David Slater for an exhilarating evening of music for choir and brass, at the Church on Saturday 14th October, 7:30pm.
Music will include movements from Handel’s Messiah, Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir and a whole variety of lighter pieces as well. International trumpet soloist Jeff Purtle from America will be demonstrating his skills alongside Wincanton-based trumpeter David Bertie in a Concerto by Vivaldi and a Sonata by Franceschini for two trumpets.
The Children’s Choir will contribute some items of their own and St Mary’s organist, David Slater, will also perform some solo music.
Proceeds from this concert will go to St Mary’s Church and for BCS 25th anniversary funds. Tickets are on sale from Bruton Pharmacy and Church Bridge Stores for £6, or telephone 01749 812281, or pay £8 on the door. Children get in free.
