The Cranmore Chase 10km Fun Run - Sunday 16th October
This 10km race is run over stunning Somerset countryside with mainly quiet tarmac lanes and a short section of trail. There is also a ford to run through (although for the softies amongst you there is a path around it!).
After an initial pull up a small hill the route is largely downhill for the first section to the ford. From there a trail leads into the lovely village of Westcombe followed by Small Down Hill. From the top you can see over the valley of the River Alham and pass close to the site of an Iron Age Fort before plunging down the other side of Small Down Hill. The route then levels out with a fast downhill section just before the finish, back to Cranmore Railway Station.
