Final Sunday Market of 2014 – Sunday 21st December
Sunday 21st December is the final Street Market of 2014. Being only four days before Christmas Day, this could be the ideal opportunity to bag that last minute Christmas present for your loved one.
Check out the food stall festive offerings; Market Co-ordinator Stephanie Ball says there will be stalls selling jewellery, interior decorations, wood-turned gifts, cushions, stained glass gifts, pictures, signs, and much, much more. The University of Diversity is back with up-cycled jewellery.
In the entertainment field the ever-popular Lizzie Weymouth will be walking on stilts and eating fire (as one normally does), and Choir Wincanton will be singing carols to delight all.
The market will again be staged in the front section of the Carrington Way Car Park. Both market traders and visitors felt that over the season, holding the market in the car park created a better atmosphere and experience for all. So it looks like the market will stay with this formula till it outgrows this location.
The 2014 market season has followed a thematic system, giving each Sunday market a different feel and bias. There will now be a short break to give the team a rest and opportunity to re-group, debrief on the past year, and look forward to the new season, which is expected to start in March 2015.
