Give Blood - More Donors Needed

The time has come again when the cheery team who run the blood donor service will be spending an afternoon, Friday 23rd January, here in Wincanton. You can attend sessions from 1.15pm to 3.15pm or 4.45pm to 7.15pm.

Twenty-five percent of us will need a blood transfusion at some stage in our lives and none of us know when we or those closest to us may need a life-saving transfusion while undergoing an operation.

As the news is telling us all the time this is when our NHS is under the tightest pressure and the need for blood, which has a very limited shelf life, is at its greatest. Only a minority of people actually give blood and more donors are badly needed now, so this is your chance to make an appointment if you have been before, or to turn up and register for the first time.

The whole process is pleasant, comfortable and highly professional and even ends with a free cuppa and biscuit. You will leave the hall in the knowledge that you have done something really worthwhile.
