Henstridge Village Fayre – Saturday 27th June
The PTFA is organising the Henstridge Village Fayre on Saturday 27th June at St Nicholas School, from 12.00pm to 4.00pm. Explorers Pre-School and Henstridge Riding for the Disabled are supporting the event, which is raising money for large outdoor play and climbing equipment for the school field.
Fairground rides will give the school a donation of profits and the rest will go to Cancer Research. There have been many generous donations for the silent auction and raffle, so have a bid and maybe win one of the fantastic prizes on offer!
The Fayre will also raise funds and awareness for Henstridge RDA, which supports so many children and adults alike across the Blackmore Vale.
There will be lots of local craft, produce, beauty and jewellery stalls to browse. Somerset Mini Marquees are providing tent coverage for all traders and the Blackmore Vale Butchery is supplying the meat for the BBQ.
The Bearcat Collective will be bringing toys, clothes and book swap tents. Lizzie will be doing fabulous free story-telling sessions and there will be Henna tattoos, face painting and children's arts and crafts.
Jump around in the inflatable dome or have a go on the chair swing ride. Inflatazone are providing the sumo suits and bungee run. There will be an assault course, pony rides, traditional fete and large garden games, treasure hunt for the children, plus different tombolas.
Wayne the cartoonist will be there to draw caricatures.
Live music will be provided by some very talented musicians - one of whom is on this year’s BBC show, The Voice.
Enjoy our Pimms and beer bar, ice creams, cakes and other refreshments, whilst listening to live music. You can even leave the children in the fully supervised crèche with ball pool and ride-on toys.
Dikes' milking cow will be there for children to practise their milking techniques. The Woodland Trust and Bowden Bees will be there too.
Look out for visiting superheros! Batman and Ironman will be wandering around with Claude the Climb Aboard bear.
Support your local school and help raise money for them to play and learn on our new proposed big equipment for the field.
