Jess Glynn is live at Wincanton Racecourse this weekend
Jess Glynn will be performing a live, open-air concert at Wincanton Racecourse on Saturday 1st July. The gates open at 3pm and the entertainment will begin at 5pm. The Jockey Club has organised this huge event to celebrate Wincanton Racecourse's 150th anniversary.
Jess made her break as the vocalist for Clean Bandit's Grammy Award-winning #1 hit “Rather Be”. Her debut album “I Cry When I laugh” has been the best-selling debut album of the last year, turning Double Platinum in the UK. She's one of only two British female artists to have five consecutive UK #1 singles, and was nominated for Best British Breakthrough Act, British Female Solo Artist and British Single for “Hold My Hand” at this year’s Brit Awards.
“It’s going to be great fun playing Wincanton Racecourse on 1st July. I love outdoor shows and can’t wait to share some summer evenings with my fans. It's just a shame I won't get to see any racing whilst I’m there.”
- Jess Glynn
Jess will be headlining but there's plenty more going on throughout the evening. She has hand-picked Kiko Bun and Mullally to support her, and BBC Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox will be playing hits from the 80s in the run up to the evening's entertainment. This will be Wincanton Racecourse's first music-only event, and should draw in a great many fans for a fun-filled family day out, ending with a spectacular firework finale.
The racecourse aims to support local businesses by offering a selection of food to suit all budgets from local suppliers. Mortimers, the course's local baker, will be supplying freshly made sandwiches and finger food.
Tickets are available from www.thejockeyclublive.co.uk, priced starting at £35 for adults and £20 for children under 18 (child tickets are limited), and there is a range of hospitality packages.
