Jubilee Parish Fete and Flower Festival
Usually held in the Memorial Hall, this year with their roof appeal and the Queen's Jubilee it was decided to hold the Fete in the church grounds and this really worked well. Many locals and visitors were attracted to come in and get involved by the fun, games, food and the variety of stalls. The result was a really friendly and relaxed day with a constant procession of families and individuals of all ages wandering in to try their luck, buy something nice and chat to everyone they knew.
Of course a Fete is an important fundraising event for a church, particularly with one with such a major roof problem, but it is also a great expression of our community.

All their own work. Flowers arranged by Wincanton Primary pupils.
In all the flowers this year really were spectacular and a tribute to the devotion and affection of those who had arranged them, and of how much this, the oldest and many would think the most special building in Wincanton is valued. Watch out for the Museum Lecture on the Parish Church that will be advertised early next year.
