When you mention vocal groups from London, Korus – a three piece vocal group from Hackney, East London – will always be a hot topic.

G, Lucci and Kappa started singing and developing their skill and style when they were in secondary school.

Inspired by artists including Michael Jackson, Prince, Jodeci, Boys To Men, Donnell Jones, Joe and many more great singers and songwriters, they began to write their own material and performed at many school talent shows.

After finishing school, Korus worked initially with a small network of producers to complete their first mix tape and in 2008 they released their debut mix tape 2012 where they fearlessly began to captivate an audience. They performed regularly, building their fan base and promoting their mix tape at many open mic nights and showcases including UK Unsigned Hype and for Shane TV at Cottons, North London.

Taking their dreams and their destiny into their own hands, Korus sold 1,500 copies of 2012 through performing at these events and sheer hard grafting. During this time, Korus also worked with American soul singer Joe, Bad Boy112, UK soul singers Lemar and Shola Ama.

Korus logoIn 2010, Korus spread their wings and began working with other producers including Ayo, Duane Flames, J Labelz and Yogi Wan. G, Lucci and Kappa took their sound to the next level and a year later saw the release of their second mix tape, Real Talk; a slicker, more crafted sound with big beats and sultry harmonies. The boys had grown up and their sound, songwriting and vocal abilities grew along with them.

Christmas of that year, the boys decided to put on their own showcase at Cottons where they performed to a large but intimate crowd and blew them away.

Throughout 2012, Korus continued performing regularly and returned to the studio to create more great music and raise the bar once more. Working closely with Yogi Wan at JKPMediaGroup, Korus have explored and experimented with different musical genres and songwriting styles. Now they are ready to put it all to use and create some more great music.

Their latest video, filmed and edited by KH Kreations, can be seen stacking up views on YouTube. With many more in the pipeline, up and coming shows and a rigorous studio schedule, the first half of 2014 is a very busy one.

Korus' new website is currently under construction and once up and running, this central hub would be the only place to stay up to date with Korus' current affairs, news and info and to get exclusive music and new release.
