Legendary Blues Musician Comes to Somerset
Caryford Community Hall is welcoming U.S. Blues musician Guy Davis to Castle Cary as part of his UK tour. His live performances are legendary and he has built up a reputation for getting audiences up and dancing wherever he plays.
He has been recording regularly for over twenty years and has been nominated for album awards on twelve occasions. His own songs sit alongside others originally recorded eighty years ago but bring something fresh to the genre, and he uses harmonica and banjo as well as guitar to enhance his story telling.
Guy has written and performed in plays, including playing Robert Johnson in ‘Trick the Devil’, and he claims that he has travelled to three corners of the world, bringing people together through music. The proof of this is his opening up music to beginners by teaching the basics and encouraging them to get together and jam to develop their own style.
Guy is playing at Caryford Hall on Monday 15th August; doors and bar open at 6.45pm, with the performance starting at 7.30pm. There is plenty of free off-road parking.
Tickets are £12.50, £10 consessions, and are available in the mornings from the Market Place in Castle Cary and from www.caryfordhall.co.uk.
