Milborne Port Farmers' Market Cries Out for Stall-Holders
I am writing as a baffled resident of Milborne Port. We have a Farmers Market that has recently been set up at The Queens Head pub on the first Sunday of the month from 10.30am - 1.30pm. I am surprised that despite people moaning that there is no work and that times are hard for businesses, and although numerous people and businesses have been contacted to attend this market at no cost to themselves, there are not more stall-holders and producers attending this event.
We are looking for stall-holders that may be interested in the monthly Farmers Market or Christmas Craft and Food Market.
All we ask is that all produce or items are handmade or home-grown. The cost for this is FREE.
The Christmas Market is on 25 November 2012 from 11.00am - 4.00pm and will be held at the Village Hall in Milborne Port. Last year we had a really great turn out with approximately 500 people attending over a weekend period. The cost for a 6ft table at the Christmas Market will be £10.00.
The community of Milborne Port is crying out for this market and the attendance has been great but we need more stalls selling home-grown local produce. We are desperate for fresh fruit and vegetables and a fresh bakery stall.
We are lucky to have on a regular basis a cup-cake stall which is a real WOW and a traditional cake stall that is always busy. We have fresh mushrooms sold along with some fresh cut flowers, a local cheese stall and some pies and quiches are also sold. We have preserves and jams. We are lucky enough to have a local ice-cream cart that has also started to attend, and it's a great hit, no matter what the weather. We have some craft stalls which are a bonus and new for September is our local butcher selling free range eggs, and our local famous Milborne Port Sausage as well as other local meat. Also this month we are having a plant stall.
If anyone is interested they can contact our local police community support officer - Mandy on 07717 117 744 or or call in to the Queen's Head pub and speak to Toni.
