Morrisons Will be Closed on Wednesday 9th May

Anyone who's been to Morrisons recently will have been handed one of these leaflets, explaining that the shop will be closed on Wednesday 9th May. It seems they've been juggling the innards quite a bit of late, but there's really only so much that can be achieved with pesky customers running free so they need to close up for a day to 'complete final improvements'.

As the leaflet states, the petrol station will remain open but that doesn't change the fact that many people will need to plan ahead a bit to avoid any awkward situations on Wednesday.

I saw a guy atop a cherry picker pressure-washing the front of the shop the other day, so they really must be trying to make an impression. But the real icing on the cake comes in the form of two relatively generous coupons on the back of this leaflet: £3 off £25, and £5 off £40, valid from the 10th May (the following day) to the 20th May.

The small print excludes a few items, but also says "only one coupon per customer per transaction". So anyone who can split their weekly shop into multiple £25 or £40 shops could pop in a few times before the 9th and get themselves more coupons!

Well, all they have to do now is to sort out the car-park. Ensuring the disabled bays are ONLY used by Blue Badge holders would be a start. Asda will send out fines! P 474 UGT be warned!!
