In a move that will surely boost the local economy Jardox Limited, an international food producer based in Kent, has purchased a £3.7m production and distribution facility together with adjacent development land on Wincanton Business Park.

Jardox produces savoury food ingredients for retailers and food manufacturers, both branded and own-label, and will be working on their new building to start production over the next 12 months.

Regional property consultancy Myddelton & Major negotiated the sale of the 47,008 sq ft premises and 4.1 acres of expansion land. The guide price for the freehold of the facility was £2.5 million plus £1.2 million for expansion land at the site in Saxon Way.

The self-contained site includes 70 car parking spaces, with loading bays and room for lorries to park.

Wincanton has an established history in the transport industry and in food production. Leading companies in the town include Dairycrest and Wyke Farms.

Jardox join a range of industrial and warehouse occupiers at the business park, including Rochford Garden Machinery, Marcus Products Ltd, Kellaway Building Products and Armishaw Removals.

Wincanton Business Park is located immediately opposite the A303 junction with easy access to this major trunk route.

Wincanton has a distinguished history in food production so it is superb to see that continue with the arrival of Jardox.

It will bring a well-known site back into use and deliver a significant boost to the local economy with substantial numbers of jobs and opportunities in the local supply chain.

This is our second multi-million pound sale of commercial units of this size in a month and is one of the biggest deals in the region for some years.
