Next Wincanton Chamber Meeting – Friday 19th June

The Wincanton Chamber invites all existing businesses (and those thinking about starting new businesses) in the Wincanton area to join them at The Bear Inn, Wincanton (Sweetman Hall) on Friday 19th June at 6.30pm for the first meeting under its new banner.

The Chamber enters a new phase, expanding beyond the High Street to the trading estates and home-based businesses, providing a focal point and forum to share business ideas and solutions for the benefit of all. The Chamber believes that the business community, working together as a body, can achieve much more in promoting a healthy local economy.

Although only a small, grass roots Chamber they are affiliated to The Somerset Chamber of Commerce, opening a gateway to information and services at local, regional, national, and international levels, for all Chamber members.

This first meeting is a fresh start, allowing those who attend to plan the way ahead. Everything will be on the table for discussion. Chamber members will decide how often to meet, where to meet, future goals, events, and projects. The meeting will also set the date for the AGM, at which time members will have a free vote to elect the committee of their choice.

The Wincanton Chamber also works with Town and District Councils on a regular basis. Both Councils are represented at Chamber meetings, bringing valuable insight and Council perspective to issues being addressed.

Currently The Chamber represents the business community on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. When complete, the Neighbourhood Plan will dictate the development of Wincanton between now and 2028.
