Wincanton & District Gardeners Association Flower Show 2016 is on 3rd September
The Wincanton & District Gardeners Association Annual Flower Show will take place on Saturday 3rd September in the Memorial Hall. Judging of the classes takes place prior to the doors opening to the public at 2.00pm, with all winning exhibits clearly marked. The winners will receive their prizes at the official presentation at 3.30pm. Admission is £1 at the door with children under 16 free.
This will be the 61st show in the history of the Association, and there will be multiple competition classes including flowers, vegetables, fruit, flower arranging, homecraft, handicraft, baking, photographic and children's sections.
Handicraft entries were unusually popular last year, and will feature strongly again this year after encouragement for children's entries. Baking has also been popular this time. New for this show will be a Handwriting section featuring a four-line poem, hand-written and decorated, used as an exercise by two classes at Wincanton Primary School.
