The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo

Noomi Rapace's thrilling performance makes her the real star of the Swedish film of Stieg Larsson's book 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. She plays Lisbeth Salander the misunderstood, unpredictable girl who emerges from an abused childhood determined not to be a victim any longer. Salander has her own axe to grind when her path crosses that of investigative journalist, Mikael Blomqvist (Michael Nyqvist) who is trying to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of Harriet Vanger, niece of a wealthy industrialist. The story tackles several hefty themes of political intrigue, corporate crime and corruption in Swedish society, as well as some less comfortable social issues; suffice it to repeat The Telegraph's description of Salander as "androgynous, bisexual, computer-hacking, twenty-something" with a hatred of men... As I said, "missunderstood"! Come along and judge this star performance for yourself and enjoy a tense mystery thriller.
