A range of organisational product from Wincanton's very own Boxhouse PublishingHere in Wincanton, it's a little known fact that mums all across the UK and beyond, look to this town to keep their families and homes running smoothly. The reason is a small, family-owned business called Boxhouse Publishing located on Bennett's Field. Owned by local business woman and busy mum of two, Sarah Sadler, Boxhouse Publishing is the company behind Organised Mum, the best-selling brand of calendars, diaries and home stationery for busy women.

The company, which sells online and through High Street shops including John Lewis, creates organisational products that are packed with clever features to help mums keep on top of busy family life. The brand's flagship products include its diary range comprising Organised Mum Life Book, Family Life Book and Pocket Life Book and calendar range, Home Planner/Family Home Planner and Weekly Planner/Family Weekly Planner. The company also offers, Made By Me, a range of stationery especially for children.

And it's not only mums in the UK that benefit from Boxhouse Publishing's products. Having started the company on her kitchen table in 2004, Sarah now sells the Organised Mum range to many places around the world including Australia, New Zealand and the Middle and Far East. Plus, the company has recently spread its wings into Europe and launched German versions of its Family Weekly Planner and Life Book diary.

The company has been based in Wincanton since March 2010 following years of continuous growth for the business which has seen the company turnover double year-on-year since it was created. With a growing customer base, the company had outgrown its old offices and was looking to locate somewhere new where it could consolidate all aspects of the business - administration, storage and despatch - on to one site.

Managing Director, Sarah Sadler, explains: "Wincanton seemed like the obvious choice to situate the business. As a family we had moved to the area some years before - we first lived in North Cheriton and now live in Wincanton itself - and our children go to school locally, so it seemed sensible to locate the business close to home. Plus, it also ticked all the boxes from a business point of view, as Wincanton has excellent transport links which for an online retail business is a key essential."

As well as Sarah, her husband, Kevin, also works within the business and they employ a number of full time staff who live in and around the Wincanton area. The company also looks to recruit temporary staff from June to September and during the Christmas period which are its busier times of the year.

Sarah explains "The business has been in Wincanton for over a year now and we've really settled into our new premises. As a family, it's great to be able to live somewhere relatively rural but that also fulfils the requirements we need for the business."
