A Look Back at Wincanton Carnival 2015 VIDEO

Only four days till Carnival night and the excitement is building. If you missed last year's carnival, worry not, for here is a video of the whole thing! It's about 23 minutes long but you can skip through it easily enough. Perhaps we'll do a shorter version next time.

The Carnival committee are grateful for the offers of support that have come in since the last article was published. They are still in need of another 10 marshals and 20 collectors to help on the night. The committee are also still looking for new committee members to help them plan for future events. There are currently 7 committee members, but they want another five. If you would like to help, give Ann Emery a call on 07840 116 127.

For Friday’s event the committee has bookings for six full sized floats and 26 30 walking entries, including the Blackdown Samba Band, the Dolphin Marching Band, the Milborne Port Twirlstar Majorettes and the Castle Cary Signet Majorettes.

For those who like old classic vehicles come and see the vintage fire engine. If you like big bangs we'll have the Poole Field Gun Display team. There'll be the usual munchies and things that flash and glow, so it promises to be another great event for all ages.

There'll be some road closures during the afternoon and evening, so if think you might need to work around them check out the details here.
