Wincanton Choral Society Spring Concert

The Wincanton Choral Society is performing its Spring Concert at 7.30pm on Sunday 15th May at the Leisure Centre in Wincanton.

The concert will be given in two parts, and comprises three works: the first part includes the well-known Ave Verum Corpus by Mozart, and, secondly, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasia, Op 80, a joyful piece he wrote in 1880. The principal work of the evening, however, is Ein deutsches Requiem, written in grief by Brahms after his mother died in February 1865.

The soprano soloist will be Belinda Evans, the Baritone Stephen Charlesworth. The piano soloist will be Anita D’Attalis.

Tickets for the performance cost £15.00 on the door, and are available from the Box Office: www.netaticket.co.uk. Tickets for under 18s can be bought for £6.50.

What a wonderful concert tonight! The Brahms "German Requiem" was magnificent. A triumph for all concerned.
