Award winning local Optometrist Sarah Gibson is celebrating ten years in business in Wincanton on Tuesday 3rd June. To mark the occasion, Sarah and her practice team will be raising funds to sponsor a Guide Dog puppy. Activities to raise the money will include an anniversary prize draw and in addition, one pound will be donated for every enhanced NHS Sight Test and private eye examination performed over the next 12 months.
The celebrations will officially begin at 4.30pm on Tuesday 3rd June at an anniversary party held in the Market Place practice. Retired Guide Dog Darcy, who is also ten years old, will be the practice's guest of honour. Darcy's owner Christine Dean is a Wincanton resident and patient at Sarah Gibson Optometrist; also in attendance will be Christine's current Guide Dog, Jodie.
Winners of the anniversary prize draw will be selected at the end of the event. Prizes have been generously donated by local businesses and suppliers. The practice is offering all visitors the chance to take advantage of special Eyeplan prices on all frames and lenses, including sunglasses, during the event. Existing Eyeplan members can look forward to an additional 10% discount over and above their usual special prices. Also on offer will be drinks and nibbles plus a chance to preview some new season frame collections.
"As a local independent business, we are incredibly proud to still be going strong after ten years," said Sarah Gibson, owner and Optometrist at the practice. "The anniversary event is our way of saying thank you all our wonderful patients who have shown us loyalty and support over the years. We're also looking forward to raising some money for Guide Dogs at the same time. The charity does some fantastic work and these dogs make a huge difference to the lives of their owners."
