Wincanton Silver Band Concert - Sunday 19th May

Wincanton Silver Band will be blowing their hearts out next Sunday afternoon, 19th May, to entertain you and raise vital funds for your local Parkinson's UK Support Group as well as for the band itself. Both these groups provide great opportunity for local people and they need your help to do what they do best.

The Wincanton Area Parkinson's Group was founded two and a half years ago to support people facing this debilitating disease. Someone is diagnosed every hour and the numbers now rival those coping with heart disease. Sadly the symptoms present differently for each person which makes finding a cure much more difficult. Not every one shakes, falls or freezes in doorways but many do and many are accused of being drunk, or being rude through staring or mumbling because their facial muscles won't work.

You will almost certainly know someone who has Parkinson's and perhaps you recognise some of these symptoms. The Wincanton Area Parkinson's Group is very grateful to the Band for giving this boost to our members and we hope the effort they have put in will be rewarded by you showing your support. Music contributes so much to life and Wincanton Silver Band is doing a great job offering anyone the chance to learn an instrument and have fun doing it.
