Wincanton Silver Band will represent at the Regional Championships in Torquay on 14th March
Wincanton Silver Band is proud to represent the Town at the West of England Regional Championships in Torquay on Saturday 14th March. Taking part in contests is part of the Band's long-term plans to raise its profile locally and attract new players.
The band has put in many hours rehearsing a specially commissioned test piece for the contest called "Neverland", composed by Christopher Bond. This piece is inspired by Peter Pan and musically portrays the magic, mystery and pirates of the story.
The band still has some vacancies and anyone who would like to join the band will be made welcome. The band meets every Monday and Thursday at the Hopkins building, Southgate Road, Wincanton, from 7:30pm - 9:30pm.
