Wincanton Town Festival of Lights 2021 begins this weekend
Wincanton Town Festival of Lights 2021 is an illuminating trail of light installations themed on sustainability, set in the gardens of the Greening the eARTh Gallery on Wincanton High Street (formerly Clementina) and in additional locations through the town. The Festival launches on Saturday 27th November and will be running on consecutive Saturdays until December 18th from 5-9pm.
At this free event, visitors will be invited to explore the grounds and gallery to view the installations whilst enjoying warm cider, hot chocolate, pizza and hearty stew, all sourced from local producers
The events will feature local artists including Zac Greening, eARTh Vader, Fossil Optical and Jigantics to name but a few, and the Secret Story Teller of Wincanton, Sarah Lloyd-Winder, will be weaving tales in the lower orchard each Saturday night.
On Saturday 27th, there'll be a fire breathing Santa, puppets and a live and interactive art installation in addition to the light installations throughout the gardens. Come early and make lanterns at the Bootmakers Workshop, and then join the Lantern Parade running throughout Wincanton on the 4th December.
On 11th December, the fabulous Wassail and Tall Tails theatre company will be performing the ‘The Tale of the Charming Rat’ in the Gallery at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
On 18th December come for our final evening, explore the pubs, cafes and restaurants of Wincanton, and enjoy a bit of late-night shopping.
