Specialist Plant Fair at Yarlington House
By kind invitation of Count and Countess Charles de Salis, the 19th Specialist Plant Fair at Yarlington House (BA9 8DY) will be held on Saturday 22nd May, 10am - 4pm, and this year the Count and Countess have chosen St Mary’s Church, Yarlington and Yarlington Village Hall to benefit from the proceeds.
The Plant Sale had to be cancelled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Although we are now in a much better situation, with a high proportion of the population vaccinated and low rates of infection, the organisers are ensuring that every precaution will be taken so that this is a COVID-safe event.
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all we have put measures in place such as:
- on entry: exact cash and separate contactless payment stands
- distanced plant stalls
- distanced refreshment stands
- one-way systems where necessary
- sanitiser dispensers across site
Whereas in previous years we have had refreshments and some stalls in the courtyard, this year they will all be located in the park. We are fortunate enough to have extensive ancient parkland in which to hold the fair, which allows for ample room to roam safely at your leisure between the plant stalls.
This is an opportunity for keen gardeners to buy from specialist growers from all over the South West and from the Yarlington House stall. Visitors will also be able to see the beautiful Italiante flower garden and walled kitchen garden which are not normally open to the public.
Tea, coffee and delicious home-made cake will be served all day. With the space available in those beautiful surroundings, it will be a very enjoyable day for everyone.
