A New Era at King Arthur's
King Arthur's School's new year started last week and Headteacher Chris Beech sees this as the start of a new era for the school. Not only are the students in new uniform, there are new faces to the leadership team who are driving forward the school.
Adele Creed is Senior Teacher promoting Behaviour for Learning and is overseeing the new prefect system and Houses. All students belong to one of Percivale, Lancelot, Gawain or Galahad with student leaders organising and promoting healthy competition in all aspects of school life.
Debbie Wright (SENCO) has also joined the leadership team to track students who may need additional support, to ensure as with all students that they are making good progress. Sally Taylor (formerly of Leweston School) has also joined the school leadership team as Bursar.
Students have come back to see the £10,000 lottery grant well used on a new climbing wall, football walls and social seating areas but also have a newly refurbished science laboratory and drama room.
Mr Beech said,
"The school is looking great and students have returned with a very positive attitude. The changes within the school reflect a renewed sense of ambition for our students and we are looking forward to seeing this reflected in their progress."
King Arthur's hosts an Open Evening on Thursday 19th September from 6.30pm – 8.30pm and members of the community as well as parents of prospective students are welcome to visit the school, meet the Headteacher and staff and see for themselves the developments taking place at the school.
