A Foragers Market is coming to Wincanton Fruit & Veg
If you're a gardener, grower or forager, or you make, bake or create, you might be excited to learn that there'll soon be a place in Wincanton for you to trade and share your produce with others in the community.
Starting this Saturday 13th July, 9am - 5pm, and in the spirit of the new craft market coming to Wincanton in September, Wincanton Fruit & Veg will be running a monthly foragers community market. It'll be a place for you to bring your allotment produce, home-made cakes and goodies and locally foraged items, where you can trade and exchange with other local home producers, or ask for a donation.
Examples: Home-grown fruit and vegetables, plants and flowers, home-baked bread and cakes, eggs, foraged greens, fruits, roots, nuts and mushrooms.
The market will be held in the Applegarth Emporium courtyard, right outside Wincanton Fruit & Veg and The Whole. There'll be no pitch or table fees, and you can either book a space or just turn up on the day.
Adding to the atmosphere, there'll also be music playing and strawberries and ice cream, kambocha cocktails and fizz being served.
There's going to be a lot happening elsewhere in town on the same day, including the new Bootmakers women's clothes swap-shop, Psychic Saturday at the Seed Cafe and a free drop-in clothes embellishment workshop at The Hub at No 4, all at Market Place.
These new, monthly initiatives are building support for a craft market that will be starting in Wincanton on 21st September. After the 13th July, all these events will coincide on the third Saturday of each month, from 17th August.
