Macmillan Coffee Morning 21st September in Cucklington Village Hall
Macmillan coffee mornings are being held throughout Britain during September. They are taking place to raise money as well as awareness for this vital service.
There is one taking place at the Arthur Morison Hall in Cucklington, on Saturday 21st September 10.00am to 12.00pm.
Please come and support us, bring a cake/buy a cake or just come and eat a cake! We will be selling whole cakes to take home as well as a slice of cake with a cuppa to sit and enjoy at the event.
The coffee morning has been organized in memory of my father who sadly died in May 2013. The Macmillan nurses who visited him were amazing, they comforted my father who had to come to terms with the fact he had terminal cancer, but also my mother who needed their support in so many ways.
It is so important that anyone dealing with cancer has the support of a Macmillan nurse and a coffee morning is a lovely way to meet old friends and make new ones over a cuppa and a slice of cake; if we can raise money at the same time it's a winner all round.
If you can donate a cake on the morning it would be very welcome. As an extra little money-raiser we will be printing a booklet with recipes for as many of the cakes on sale as possible, so if you are bringing a cake please email the recipe to me by 14th September to have yours included: .
See you all there.
Claire
