Museum Gets a Logo Thanks to King Arthur’s Artists
With the help of Art teachers Mrs Debbie Nelson and Mrs Anna Mesarova, Wincanton Museum and History Society launched a competition for a student-designed logo for the Society. The impetus to do this was inspired by the much admired logo designed by a King Arthur’s student for the Health Centre when it opened.
As a result every student in the school was given some time in an art lesson to work on a logo and the resulting images were judged by a panel set up by the Museum Committee. Their unanimous choice was a design by Year Seven student Will Bristol. It did, however, need some tweaking and Year Eleven student Brad Tucker was asked to help, with the result you can see here.
The Wincanton Museum and History Society now has a clean, contemporary logo to use for advertising and publicity purposes, which is immediately recognisable as standing for Wincanton.
The photo shows Will and Brad with their prizes of £25 and £10 with Museum Chairman, Nigel Fox.
