Nic Firth Saddles Up for London to Bath 100 Bike Ride
Local estate agent Nic Firth, from Colbert-Smith in Wincanton, will be sacrificing his Sunday on 5th October to raise money for The British Heart Foundation. The event is called “The London to Bath 100 Bike Ride”.
This will be no mean achievement. On the day registration is between 6.30am and 8.00am at The Harlequins Rugby Ground in South West London. Following registration there will be a rolling start between 7.00am and 8.00am. Minor changes to the route mean that the actual distance will be nearer 113 miles. The ride finishes at Royal Crescent in Bath, or at 5.30pm, whichever comes first. Full information can be found on the British Heart Foundation website.
The route will present challenging climbs, exhilarating descents, and the bonus of beautiful scenery along the way. As with all outdoor events the big unknown is the weather. Even on a nice day all it takes is a south westerly breeze, and the journey becomes much tougher.
All-in-all this is one tough challenge, and worthy of your support. So, if you would like to sponsor Nic go to his Just Giving charity donation page. If you are in Wincanton, call in to Colbert-Smith and encourage Nic. He’ll need it. If you really want to be cheeky, call in at the Colbert-Smith office on Monday 6th October and see if he managed to get to work. He may be there, but please talk quietly – don’t wake him!
