WW1 fallen ‘brought back to the places they left behind’
On Friday 9th November, St John’s Church will hold a memorial service for our fallen heroes of WW1, during which a contingent of soldiers and veterans will march 14 life-size silhouettes from the war memorial to the Church.
KA students develop employment skills with Crestmoor Training
Six current Year 11 students at King Arthur’s School have gained their certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development, after working with local training company, Crestmoor Training.

A Christmas Fayre at Ansford Academy
Ansford Academy is holding a Christmas fayre and raffle next week, to raise money to purchase 3D printers and other mobile devices that will help the school to prepare students for today’s technology-rich world.
King Arthur's achieved solid GCSE results this year
Despite this year's more rigorous assessment procedures, 51% of King Arthur’s students achieved above the national standard of 5 or more GCSEs including English and Mathematics at grades A*C or 9-4 with 54% gaining standards for Maths and English.
Wincanton Duck Race returns this year on Sunday 14th May
The annual Wincanton Duck Race makes a welcome return for 2017 following a year off. It takes up its position next to the River Cale and the new play area in Wincanton's Cale Park. The fun begins at 1pm and will finish at 4pm. Come along for a family day out. The weather looks favourable, even for ducks!
Rounders at the Rec this month is just the beginning...
Show up at Cale Park with a quid this Thursday at 6:30pm to hit a ball with a stick and run around in circles and stuff. All young people are welcome (under 10s to be accompanied by an adult) and there'll be free refreshments. But this is just the start of something long overdue in Wincanton.
Fun for Kids at Wincanton Library
Anyone who took part in the Big Friendly Read, or attended the craft and story day in August already knows what fun libraries can be. Wincanton Library Friends intend to host creative events for children during all half term breaks and other school holidays.
