Somerset’s Ultimate Christmas Experience - Wincanton Races on Boxing Day

Racing at Wincanton on Boxing Day (Saturday, December 26th) is the highlight of Somerset’s social and sporting calendar, and with a surge in advance booking, Wincanton Racecourse is definitely the place to be over Christmas.

Racecourse staff will be on-site from 6.00am on Boxing Day ready for the most popular meeting of the season. A 100-strong stewarding team will welcome the public with any manner of plans in place to get race-goers to where they want to go as quickly as possible. On a day when the attendance can be up to four times that of a normal race day the pressure is on!

Advance tickets are still available up until midnight on December 23rd, with entry starting from £10 for the Course Enclosure, rising to £25 for an advance Premier ticket. Racing is one of the only sports to provide complimentary entry for children aged 17-years and under when accompanied by an adult – seeing a glorious outing for a family-of-four valued at £20 to £50 for a whole day’s entertainment.

Boxing Day hospitality has all but sold out in all restaurants but food will be available from the Badger, Stalbridge and See More Business Bars as well as the traditional concessions.

A complimentary park & ride service will be in operation from Morrisons and Wincanton Medical Centre (postcode BA9 9FQ). Buses will be ready to start transporting people to the racecourse from 10.00am.
