Has the latest golf from Augusta got you hooked or are you worried your drive will be hooked, sliced or shanked? You may not be ready for the green jacket but you could start teeing off at your local golf club with a practical introduction to the game of golf.

Somerset Skills & Learning are running a Golf for Beginners course at Wincanton Golf Club starting on Thursday May 10th May 17th. The course will run from 6.00pm to 7.30pm for four weeks.

The course will cover the basic grip, stance and length of swing, club selection, distance control, chipping, putting and bunker shots.

Wincanton's golf course is located on Wincanton racecourse and is a nine-hole course perfect for the beginner. Clubs and balls can be provided for use during the course.

The facilities include club hire with buggy or trolley hire, a pro shop, practise ground and café.

The course costs £40.00 or if you qualify for concessions £20.00.
