Horsington 4 - 1 Wincanton

Horsington overcame Wincanton on Monday 15th October, in the Wyke Farms Football League thanks to a hat trick from Joe Allen.

It was end-to-end from the start as both teams looked for the opener and it was Josh Nancarrow who obliged with a powerful shot into the roof of the net.

Wincanton were soon level with a Kieran Barnicoat finish. On the stroke of half-time Joe Allen notched his first and second goals of the game. His dribbling and energy in the mid-field stood out throughout, in a dominant display.

After half time the game was again hard fought. Horsington created the best chances and rattled the framework of the goal on more than one occasion. They extended their lead to 4-1 as Allen completed his hat trick. Wincanton fought hard and were thankful to Brandon Squire who pulled off a number of fines saves, and Lauren Talbot whose tackling and battling attitude set her apart.
