Compton Castle is opening its gardens again in aid of The Balsam Centre
Another chance to see the lovely gardens and heart-shaped lake of Compton Castle is coming up on Sunday 24th June, 2 – 4pm. The unusual Gothic style castle from the 1820s (not open to the public) sits in fine parkland and is not to be missed. The natural landscape of the surrounding gardens gives no hint of the gem beyond the trees.
Sit and enjoy a cream tea, slice of cake or a glass of Pimms by the lake, or maybe an ice cream or candy floss. The lovely plant stand will be back, along with craft from the Men’s Shed, and local produce. Don’t forget to buy a ticket for the tombola for a chance to win a great prize!
Last year, Bill and Jane Hopkins raised a fantastic £3800 in aid of The Balsam Centre in Wincanton, and this year they are kindly donating all the money raised to the Centre again. So come along and enjoy a lovely day in the gardens!
Entrance is £5, children are free. No dogs please.
To find it, drive up Old Road, Compton Pauncefoot, BA22 and as the road bends to the right to become New Road, you will see the entrance on your left. There will be attendants directing you into the parking areas.
If you need any further information, call The Balsam Centre on 01963 31842.
