Wincanton Racecourse's May Meetings

10th May:

Enjoy evening racing at Wincanton Racecourse on Thursday, 10th May. Gates open 4.00pm with the first of six races off at 6:05pm. When racing draws to an end, the infamous Somerset-based, three-piece Scrumpy & Western band - The Mangledwurzels - will perform, blending classic Wurzels songs with self-penned original compositions and pop standards mangled in true Wurzels tradition.

15th MAY:

On Tuesday, 15th May the female population will steal the limelight at Wincanton Racecourse's popular Somerset Life Ladies Day, which has become one of the biggest social occasions in the Somerset calendar.

Gates open at Midday with the first race off at 2.10pm.

All female race-goers have the chance to take part in the Best Dressed Lady and are requested to gather outside the weighing room at 3.30pm. The overall winner will receive some fabulous prizes that include a limited edition Cozmo Jenks headpiece, with Dubarry of Ireland supporting the Best Hat competition.

Following last year's success, Wincanton's Kingwell Restaurant will host a Ladies Luncheon and Fashion Show for £49.50 per head which includes admission plus champagne on arrival, a two-course lunch, afternoon tea and other racing treats.
