Wincanton Poppy Appeal 2011

To launch the Royal British Legion's historic 90th anniversary, Wincanton Silver Band will be giving a blockbuster concert in the Memorial Hall, Wincanton on 29th October at 7.30p.m. The award winning Silver Band will be conducted by David Bertie, who was previously a Bandmaster in the Army, so expect some spectacular music.

The programme promises something for everyone and will include nostalgic music, patriotic songs and wartime favourites. The finale will include a stirring adaptation of the Last Post.

This concert is proving very popular and advanced ticket purchase is advised. Priced at £7.50, tickets are available from Wincanton Town Hall and Divine Wines in Wincanton High Street or by phone 01963 824193. The Silver Band are donating their services free with all proceeds going to Wincanton Poppy Appeal 2011.

Wincanton RBL is also holding a Coffee Morning at 10.00am that day with an exhibition in the Memorial Hall as a tribute to the War Dead of Wincanton in both World Wars.
