Wincanton Remembrance Parade & Service 2015
Remembrance Sunday 2015, which this year fell on Sunday 8th November, again saw a good number of the community support and join in with the annual parade and service.
It was particularly encouraging to see a strong number of younger members of the community involved in the event, through the various youth organisations in both the town and surrounding areas. The parade and service play an important role in the act of remembrance and participation in the event continues to be well supported.
The parade was, as always, led by the Wincanton Town Silver Band who were followed by the local MP, David Warburton, Town and District Councillors, members of the serving Armed Forces, members of the Royal British Legion – Wincanton Branch, parade marshal, Church representatives, standard bearers, youth groups, cadet forces, Wincanton Fire Brigade, the Police and members of the Red Cross.
