Colin Winder, former Wincanton Town Councillor and Mayor, has been presented with the Council's Community Award for an individual this year for his service to the community. The award was presented at a civic reception in the Town Hall on Saturday 19th November 2016.

Tomorrow, 21st January, the day after Donald Trump's first full day as President, thousands will march on Washington DC and other cities around the world. I intend to walk to show solidarity in Wincanton, at 2pm from the Memorial Hall. I invite all who are able to join me.

The opening of the newly named Bayford Village Hall will take place on Saturday 10th December. Since the purchase of the hall in April 2016 it has been repaired and converted into a safe and accessible community facility, at a total cost of £96,000.
