Nostalgic Film Show Attracts Crowds & Raises £1,000 for Charity
The recent film show celebrating 50 nostalgic years of Wincanton Transport and Engineering was a great success, attended by an unexpectedly large crowd and raising £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care.
Wincanton Seniors Christmas Lunch
Sunday 6th December saw around eighty Wincanton senior citizens enjoying a traditional Christmas dinner and a concert by the Pilgrim Singers in the Memorial Hall, Wincanton.
Wincanton Christmas Extravaganza Pulls the Crowds Again
This year’s well attended Christmas Extravaganza featured many of the old favourites, including Santa’s Grotto, carols around the Christmas tree and jazz music in The Dolphin’s courtyard, as well as some new events, such as a lantern parade.

Switching On the Christmas Tree Lights
This Saturday, 14th, at 6:30pm the lights on the Christmas tree at Market Place will be switched on as part of a ceremony lead by Mayor Colin Winder. There will hopefully also be some carol singing around the tree.

Annual Fete Raises £2,190 for Wincanton Community Hospital
With the kind help of hospital staff, Friends and volunteers, Wincanton’s Community Hospital Annual Fete was a huge success, raising much-needed funds for the hospital and ensuring a fun afternoon for all who attended.

South Somerset have announced that there is an error in their poster for today’s Playday in Wincanton. The poster shows the event running between 10am and 1pm. The event actually starts at 1pm and runs through till 4pm. Please pass the word to everyone you know.
