Cornerstone Healthcare Group is delighted to announce the project re-start of its 74-bed, specialist care service in Wincanton following a five-month delay due to building contractors Midas Construction Ltd going into administration.
More than 400m of Wincanton's sewers will be renovated throughout August
Wincanton’s sewers will be given a new lease of life courtesy of a £150,000 renovation project taking place next month. Pipes throughout the town will be revitalised by Wessex Water, with much of the project being completed by engineers using robots to minimise disruption.

Waterworks will block Wincanton High Street for 3 days from 1st June
There will be a road closure on Wincanton High Street blocking all traffic for three days from 1st June to allow Wessex Water to repair a mains leak.

The Church Street bottleneck has double yellows at last
Inconsiderate parking near the narrow pass at the bottom of Church Street has been a frustration, and often an outright obstruction to drivers of large vehicles for years. Finally, double yellow lines have been added to discourage future blockages.

Wincanton's trees took a battering in the recent high winds
The recent windy weather has brought down two notably large trees in Wincanton. One fell at Wincanton Community Hospital, blocking the car park entrance, and another in the cemetery grounds of Wincanton Parish Church.
Wincanton pupils helped plant new trees at Cale Park
On Thursday 24th January 2019, children from Wincanton Primary School, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School and King Arthur’s School joined Wincanton Town Council to help plant 14 new trees at the Cale Park recreation ground.
