Refurbished Red Cross Renamed After David Sharp
Following the lighting of the Christmas Tree there was a good turn-out for the renaming of the Red Cross building as the David Sharp Centre.
Wind Turbines Plan Withdrawn
A scheme for two 34 metre-high wind turbines have been withdrawn by the applicant, owing to a lack of information in the plans, just two days before it was due to be discussed by the parish council.
Turbine Towers Win Civic Support
Wind turbines on Wincanton’s doorstep moved a step closer after the Town Council recommended approval of planning permission for two 34-metre high generators at Moorhayes Farm between Wincanton and Charlton Musgrove.

A Sledge hammer was used to smash the walls of the shelter in the park which has been there for generations.
Wincanton Footpaths Reopened after Years of Neglect
Roger and Janet Lowe, Wincanton's PPLOs are delighted to report that, with the help of our Countryside Rangers, several of Wincanton's footpaths have been reopened after years of neglect. More support will be needed to keep all our footpaths open.
