BatcombeLive Mini Festival 8th – 11th May
Over this long weekend in May, BatcombeLive, has arranged four varied evening events to appeal to a wide range of interests. Proceeds will be divided between the Batcombe Branch of the Royal British Legion and Care for Casualties, the Rifles Charity.

Pray, Praise and Paint is held at Wincanton Methodist Church on the first and third Saturdays of each month, a group that explores creativity with faith, for all ages.
Hermitage Ensemble – from Russia with Love
One of the most popular chamber choirs from Russia, the Hermitage Ensemble of St Petersburg, is coming to the church of St Stephen at Charlton Musgrove to perform a programme of Russian Orthodox music, on Saturday 26th April at 7.00pm.

Milborne Port Opera Wins Two Awards
Milborne Port Opera has won two major awards, against stiff opposition from companies from all over Somerset, in the annual David Beach Awards for Musical Theatre, presented at an awards dinner by the Somerset Fellowship of Drama (SFD).
The 365 Project – An Exhibition of Photography by Trixie Hiscock
Wincanton photographer Trixie Hiscock undertook a year-long 365 Project, publishing a new photo online every day for a year to broaden her skills. She celebrated its completion with an exhibition of the entire collection in Wincanton Memorial Hall recently.

WFS Begins Movies at The Bear with Arthur Christmas on Saturday 4th
Wincanton Film Society is starting 2014 with a new initiative. Working with The Bear Hotel, they will screen films monthly in The Sweetman Hall. The ball starts rolling tomorrow, Saturday 4th January, with a special family matinee film, "Arthur Christmas".
