Disability Football Sessions are a Huge Success
Back in March, Wincanton Sports Ground was fortunate enough to receive funding from the Somerset FA to set up football sessions for adults with disabilities. With the winter months approaching, unfortunately the sessions have now finished for the year.

Numerous drains around Wincanton are blocked solid, perhaps by debris caused from the flooding earlier this year, but action from Highways Agency, which promises to clear the drains by December, is as sluggish as the drains themselves.

Wincanton is now, at least in part, solar powered. Hook Valley Solar Farm has been commissioned and is supplying electricity from solar energy into the local grid. The solar farm rents fields from three farms and is home to 60,000 solar panels.
