On Saturday 24th August 2019, Wincanton Town Council will present Bohemian Rhapsody (12A), the second outdoor film screening at Cale Park, completely FREE and open to everyone. Bring your own picnic or buy food at the event, claim a spot and relax for the evening.

An energy of fresh enthusiasm has been building in Wincanton throughout the year, and there are moves afoot to channel it towards the development of the town’s centre and community. The Town Council is keen to involve everyone to capitalise on this important opportunity.

The Church Street bottleneck has double yellows at last
Inconsiderate parking near the narrow pass at the bottom of Church Street has been a frustration, and often an outright obstruction to drivers of large vehicles for years. Finally, double yellow lines have been added to discourage future blockages.

Wincanton marks the 75th anniversary of the crash of Old Faithful
A large number of townspeople turned out in Wincanton on 23rd June to mark the 75th anniversary of the crash of the American Flying Fortress bomber, Old Faithful, nearby. The sacrifices made that day have been remembered every year since a memorial was erected in 1954.
