You may have noticed as you walk down Carrington Way that the Library is open again! It is opening in phases. On 3rd August it opened its doors, but it is not quite the same gloriously free space it used to be!
Volunteer to reduce landfill at Repair Café Wincanton
Repair Café Wincanton is a neighbourhood initiative that promotes repair as an alternative to throwing things out. Locals can bring broken items to fix with the help of voluntary repairers. The Café could use more handy volunteers in the area. Join us!

This week, the Mayor is celebrating the Balsam Centre; another of the key components of Wincanton's support for the vulnerable, and a hub from which an army of volunteers is being coordinated to deliver shopping, prescriptions and more to those who can't leave their own houses.
Message from the Mayor #2 - Celebrating Wincanton Live at Home
The Wincanton Live at Home scheme began in 1997 and now supports around 170 local residents with an average age of 88, providing an invaluable safety net for the vulnerable during lockdown, with unstinting support from about 40 volunteers.
The Wincanton 75 Stay at Home Street Party
It's VE Day this Friday, and a lot of effort has gone into organising a Wincanton event that observes advice on dealing with the current situation. Everyone is invited to host a concurrent 'Wincanton 75 Stay at Home' street party in their own garden to celebrate.

Planning the future of Wincanton: Round 2
On Tuesday 21st January, the Wincanton For the Future working group will assemble for its second meeting to further develop the Town Council’s plan for the future of the town. Everyone is most welcome, so if you have ideas for the town, come and share!

Wincanton Over-70s Christmas Lunch
Wincanton Over-70s Christmas Lunch was held on Sunday 1st December 2019 at King Arthur's School. With entertainment from Wincanton Youth Theatre, and help from KA staff, Year 11 pupils and volunteers, ninety four residents had a great day.

Janet Fray has lived locally for many years. She was married to Jerry, a retired RAF Squadron Leader and holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross, whose vital role related to the Dambusters raid was kept secret until 2001.

Here are the timings for Wincanton's Remembrance Sunday 2019 parade and church service. From last year, for the 100th anniversary of the Armistice ending WWI, we reverted to the traditional time; in the morning.

It's time again for the delightful Winter Fair, this year to be held at Wincanton Racecourse and raising money for The Balsam Centre. Everything is donated, so all the money goes to charity.
